Background Removing: Our New Service
One more service added: this is a must for anyone designing a catalog: removing backgrounds from photographs.
This has to be performed by graphic arts techs, and when they come to the edge of the object, the process becomes really laborious, and therefore very expensive.
Tiny squares of the picture smaller than a pinhead (pixels) have to be removed by hand, one by one, sometimes in thousands. At $35 an hour, one thing is certainly not going to stay in the background, and that’s the cost!
As in the case of other computer-related services, there are highly skilled graphic arts techs in India who’ll do it for you at $11 an hour (current rate).
