Here:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"MariaDB\" style=\"border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"MariaDB\" src=\"http:\/\/themagnumgroup.net\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/MariaDB.jpg\" width=\"281\" height=\"189\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>MariaDB<\/strong> was created by many of the core developers of MySQL along with contributions from Facebook, Twitter and Google.&nbsp; It incorporates many of the above-mentioned improvements and bug fixes needed in MySQL. It\u2019s in beta right now, and you can ask for an invite <a href=\"https:\/\/mariadb.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a> if you like.<\/p>\n<p>Whether it will actually overtake MySQL in the foreseeable future is indeed questionable. There are more than 59 <em>million<\/em> WordPress websites (<a href=\"http:\/\/royal.pingdom.com\/2013\/01\/16\/internet-2012-in-numbers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">source<\/a>), for instance, and they all use MySQL\u2026 that is no small population. Apart from that are the army of enterprise users who will think twice before putting credit card numbers and other confidential data onto a yet-to-mature database structure.<\/p>\n<p>So let\u2019s keep watching.
