{"id":100,"date":"2007-11-06T17:51:49","date_gmt":"2007-11-06T12:21:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/themagnumgroup.net\/Blog\/100.htm"},"modified":"2020-04-04T15:15:45","modified_gmt":"2020-04-04T09:45:45","slug":"getting-a-missing-autocad-menu-bar-to-load","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/themagnumgroup.net\/Blog\/getting-a-missing-autocad-menu-bar-to-load\/","title":{"rendered":"Getting a Missing AutoCAD Menu Bar to Load"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #660000;\"><small>by <\/small><b><small>R Kamalathasan, <\/small><\/b><small>Assistant Manager (Projects),<\/small><b><small> The Magnum Group<\/small><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>I just surmounted<\/b> a strange problem in AutoCAD 2007: my toolbars did not load during my AutoCAD session but everything else worked fine.<\/p>\n<p><b>When I typed<\/b> the \u201cmenuload\u201d command, the \u201cLoad\\Unload Customizations\u201d dialogue box opened; I browsed to the \u201cSelect Customization File\u201d dialog box and selected the \u201cacad.cui\u201d file and when I tried to load&#8230;\u00a0 it didn\u2019t load.<\/p>\n<p><b>I tried some other methods<\/b> (suggested by a user forum) such as replacing the \u201cacad.cui\u201d file, assigning a different path to support files and support files from cache&#8230;so on and so on&#8230; nothing worked!<br \/>\n<b><br \/>\nFinally I decided<\/b> to repair the AutoCAD installation through the control panel.<\/p>\n<p><b>First I tried<\/b> \u201cRepair errors in my AutoCAD 2007 installation\u201d option and restarted AutoCAD; the problem persisted. Next I tried the \u201cRepair registry\u201d option\u2026 no use. I finally tried the \u201cReinstall AutoCAD 2007\u201d option but that didn\u2019t solve the problem either.<\/p>\n<p><b>I was frustrated<\/b> that I couldn&#8217;t crack the puzzle.<br \/>\n<b><br \/>\nAfter two days,<\/b> when I Googled \u201cmenuload failed loading in AutoCAD 2007\u201d, I came across this link: <a href=\"http:\/\/usa.autodesk.com\/adsk\/servlet\/ps\/item?siteID=123112&amp;id=6132379&amp;linkID=9240617\">http:\/\/usa.autodesk.com\/adsk\/servlet\/ps\/item?siteID=123112&amp;id=6132379&amp;linkID=9240617<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Yes, I finally got to the root of the matter:<\/b><br \/>\n<b><br \/>\nThe culprit was the XMLINST.exe file.<\/b> It was missing (somehow?) from the specified path in the Windows directory.
