Interior Elevations
- The Magnum Group has done blockout elevations for the interiors of some of the most prestigious hotels in the US and the Middle East. A representative sample is shown below (click to enlarge).
- These elevations are given to the contactor who is constructing the interiors of the project. The elevations specify, for instance, the location and size of wall panelling and the intricacies of false ceilings.
- Many interior designers try to execute projects without drawings, by just having conversations with the contractor and giving them pencil sketches. This almost always results in misunderstandings, unusable work by the contractor and avoidable contractor's bills for the unusable work.
- An interior designer should start using interior elevation drawings as soon as his/her cash flow permits... this is the only way s/he can grow into larger interior design assignments!
